The Denver Broncos have suspended Brandon Marshall indefinitely as a result of insubordination.
Coach Josh McDaniels spoke with Marshall on Friday and let him know that he had been suspended for “conduct detrimental to the team” after slacking off on the practice field on Wednesday.
The Broncos are expected to reevaluate the situation when the preseason ends on September 6th.
Marshall gave an interview to ESPN on Thursday night in which he stated that he wasn’t trying to force a trade through insubordination, but that frustration led to his inexcusable behavior on the practice field.
In the video below, Marshall can be seen walking when the rest of the team was running during warm-ups. He also punts the ball away instead of giving it to the ball boy and swats a pass away that was thrown to him.
Marshall seems to know that he was out of line.
“I think everybody knows there’s a lot of stuff built up there, and me handling it that way wasn’t good,” Marshall said.
