F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You

google toolbar Brand New: Google Toolbar 6 for Internet Exporer (Beta)

Google introduced the all new Google Toolbar 6 for Internet Explorer. The new toolbar focuses on Google's main areas of concentration - search and navigation.

The first new thing you will notice with today's release is the Quick Search Box (QSB).  This feature provides search functionality outside of your browser.

Just click on the Google logo in the taskbar to activate it (you can also hit Ctrl+Space).  As you type, it will provide search and website suggestions, relevant bookmarks, and even allow you to launch applications directly from the search box.

The best part is that, as you use the QSB, it will customize itself to your usage pattern.  This means that eventually you won't need to type as many characters to get to your favorite spots on the web.

The next thing you'll notice is that Google is now bringing elements from their search results page right into your toolbar.  You will see website suggestions AND sponsored links as you type your query. Clicking on these will take you straight to the website.

Finally, you will also see  the new tab page has been rolled out for Internet Explorer users (Firefox Toolbar users already had this feature). You can quickly access your most viewed sites, recently closed tabs and bookmarked pages all from the new tab page.

You can download the new toolbar here.
