Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie acted fast to help those who have been affected by Tuesday’s horrific 7.0 earthquake in Haiti.
“We are devastated by the news from Haiti,” the couple said in a prepared statement. “We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter.”
Both superstars have been known for their humanitarian efforts in the past. They helped out after Hurricane Katrina and volunteer for the United Nations and other noble causes.
Jean, who was born in Haiti, issued a statement earlier on Wednesday giving those concerned an opportunity to assist. You can donate $5 to his Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund by texting “Yele” to 501501. The $5 will then be added directly to your cell phone bill. You can also go to www.Yele.org.
