Tom Brady may have lost a Super Bowl, but he’s gaining a brother (-in-law). It seems Boston Red Sox infielder/DH Kevin Youkilis is engaged to marry Julie Brady, Tom’s sister.
Youkilis first met Julie at a postgame party at Patriot Place last year, just after the New York Jets booted the New England Patriots from the 2010 playoffs.
Youk was in Brady’s suite at Lucas Oil Stadium for Super Bowl XLVI to watch Tommy and the Pats lose to the New York Giants.
The couple dated for a year before deciding to take the plunge.
Julie Brady is a schoolteacher with a five-year-old daughter. So far, it looks like the ceremony will be held during the off-season in California, where the Bradys are from.
“He’s really lucky,” a friend Kevin’s said. “She’s a really nice person, but all the Bradys are nice people.”
It will be her first marriage and his second, though technically his first.
Youkilis was kind of sort of married to Ben Affleck’s ex, Enza Sambataro, although the couple never really filed the proper paperwork. Hopefully, things will be more organized this time around.
