Boost Your Alexa Rank the White Hat Way

Do you check your Alexa rank often? If you're like me, maybe you're obsessed with it. Well, here is a quick and easy way to boost your Alexa rank.

Did you know that Alexa only tracks the website views of users who HAVE the Alexa toolbar installed? That's right. If you don't use the toolbar, Alexa has no way of knowing what sites you visit.

So, to quickly and easily boost your rank, go download and install the Alexa toolbar (it's adware and spyware free), THEN set YOUR website as your homepage!

In fact, thanks to tabbed browsing, you can now set more than one homepage as your homepage. Personally, I have three pages that pop up as my home page.

So you can set YOUR own site as a homepage and MontysMegaMarketing as your SECOND homepage (wink wink).

Then, go tell your friends and family to install the toolbar too. You can tell them it's like the Nielsen ratings for the internet.

So there you have it. It doesn't get any easier than that. Now go do something about it.

Okay so we know how to boost Alexa rank artificially... but why? Unless you are selling links what is the benefit to doing this?

If someone said, "We have determined that the world's most popular ice cream flavor is Rocky Road. All persons who were wearing our ice cream flavor sensor were included in our data.", wouldn't you say, "Hey! No one asked ME to wear an ice cream flavor sensor!"? If you knew you were wearing one, wouldn't you be sure to eat your favorite flavor so that the world knew about it? Does that make it artificial? It's not like we're spoofing proxies and re-loading the page every 60 seconds. THAT would be artificial Alexa rank inflation, in my view. :-)

In any case, if someone were going to pay top dollar for a blog or a site, they're going to want to see how many backlinks you have and what your Alexa rank is. Refer to the recent posts about the bankaholic blog for more info.
