Now that it has been at the top of Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart for a 14th week, the Black Eyed Peas single "I Gotta Feeling" has matched Mariah Carey's 2005 hit "We Belong Together" for the longest Number 1 streak of this decade.
The band has now been sitting on top of the charts for 26 consecutive weeks, with "Boom Boom Pow" resting at Number 1 before "I Gotta Feeling" for 12 weeks. The Black Eyed Peas now become only the second act in the entire 51-year history of the Hot 100 to stay at Number 1 for more than half a calendar year.
The only other act to achieve the feat was Usher, who spent 28 nonconsecutive weeks atop the charts back in 2004 with four different singles.
