Microsoft’s new search engine, codenamed Kumo and now titled Bing, is set to go live on Friday, May 29.
The goal of their $80 million marketing campaign is to slay the mighty Google. As previously reported, the new search engine will be a significant improvement upon Live Search. It’s also expected to go toe-to-toe with the newer “semantic” engines such as Wolfram Alpha.
Microsoft hopes to minimize people having to refine searches once they’ve made them by suggesting categories to the user.
Will it become a “Google Killer?” Too soon to tell. Stay tuned.
