Bing may have done exactly what we predicted when we first wrote about it. New figures from StatCounter would seem to indicate that it has actually passed Yahoo Search as the number two search engine in the country.
Their analysis from Thursday indicated Bing in the U.S. overtook Yahoo to take second place at 16.28 percent, with Yahoo Search at 10.22 percent.
Google’s U.S. market share is at 71.47 percent, by the way, and its worldwide share is at 87.62 percent, so they are in no danger...yet.
The question is, were people just excited about it and trying out the latest "new thing", or could it truly present a challenge to Google?
