Bing’s hold on the number two spot in the search engine wars lasted about as long as Brett Rogers vs. Andrei Arlovski. Well, OK, it wasn’t 22 seconds, but Bing held the number two spot for just 1 day.
As of this writing, Bing’s search share is still plumetting actually, according to StatCounter. In fact, as Matt Cutts points out in a comment over at TechCrunch, Bing’s stats for Sunday were lower than Live.com‘s previous stats. On May 18th, Live.com had a 6.36 percent share of the U.S. search market. On Sunday, Bing had a 5.65 percent share.
It looks like the initial excitement was there, but Bing faded quickly.
It’s a good thing they’ve spent so much money on that TV ad campaign. It had better be good.
