If you are an avid watcher of internet trends, this is big news.
Santosh Jayaram, Twitter’s Vice President of Operations, says that Twitter search is preparing to begin crawling the actual links that you include in your tweets, according to Cnet.
That's a lot of data to crunch. This will make Twitter even more of a real-time search juggernaut than it already is.
Jayaram has also hinted that Twitter Search may also be about to get its own reputation ranking system.
Rank would likely be calculated based on factors like number of followers, number of retweets, etc.
While this will prove to be a formidable opponent to Google's search, however, Twitter has a long way to go before they can dethrone King Google.
