Oakland Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour was ejected during today’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers for an openhanded punch to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as the quarterback celebrated a touchdown pass.
After completing a 22-yard pass to Emmanuel Sanders, Roethlisberger jumped into the arms of tackle Flozell Adams. He then appeared to say something to Seymour, who nailed the quarterback in the jaw with his open right hand.
After Roethlisberger went down, lineman Chris Kemoeatu grabbed Seymour. Both Seymour and Kemoeatu drew penalties, but only Seymour was ejected.
