new rubiks cubeDo you have fond memories of the original Rubik’s Cube?  I remember watching That’s Incredible and Ripley’s Believe It or Not as people showed off how quickly they could solve it.

I never did master the friggin’ thing.  Now, there’s a new version to frustrate you for hours on end.

The latest incarnation of Rubik’s Cube no longer has to be physically turned.  Instead it has tactile sides with LEDs that you swipe with your finger. When you manage to change a color, the TouchCube will emit a sound.  Oh, and there’s even an accelerometer that knows which way is up.  Pretty slick.

The coolest feature of the new Rubik’s Cube?  It can can solve itself, with the help of an onboard computer.

The TouchCube costs around $150, vs. the original which costs $12.
