Sgt. John Delaney says a man in dark clothes and wearing sunglasses entered The Bank of Western Massachusetts on Thursday morning and demanded money from a bank teller. The man claimed to be armed but never showed a weapon.
Delaney says another person in the bank then yelled at the robber to leave, so he did. The would-be criminal left the building without getting any money, got into a getaway car and took off.
Detectives are now examining bank security footage and dusting for fingerprints.
