At speeds exceeding 180 m.p.h., race cars will dominate Baltimore on Labor Day weekend 2011, and fans worldwide are already coughing up the dough to see it in person.

“Frankly the response has been overwhelming,” says Jay Davidson, Baltimore Grand Prix CEO. “The first hour, our server was knocked offline.”

Davidson said that 6,100 tickets sold in a 2-hour presale held today, totaling about $650,000.
The sale was such a hit, it was extended by one day. Now, more than 10,000 tickets have already been sold.
The online presale was such a hit, organizers have pushed up the date to start selling regular tickets on the website, and that start date is tomorrow.
So if you want to have a chance to see the Baltimore Grand Prix live and in person, go here tomorrow to purchase your tickets at 10 a.m.
