Balloon Boy: Sheriff Plans to File Charges

See? Didn't we tell you this wasn't over?

The sheriff in the balloon boy saga now says that charges will likely be filed.

Sheriff Jim Alderden indicates that serious progress has been made in the case and that we're likely to see Class 3 misdemeanor charges filed.

Alderden is also talking things over with the FAA to see if other charges might be warranted.

Gawker has posted a story from a former colleague of Richard Heene which all but outlines every step of the elaborate hoax.

Also, earlier today, Heene pulled an about face, first promising reporters a huge announcement, then backing out and simply passing around a box in which the press could submit question.

"Absolutely no hoax. I want your questions in the box," Heene said, holding a cardboard box before going back in the home.

Weirder by the minute.  That's what this is.
