UPDATE: This has been confirmed as a hoax. Follow along here for the latest updates.
The nation was glued to the TV set on Thursday, as a 6-year-old boy named Falcon Heene supposedly flew through the Colorado skies in a home-made helium balloon…but was it all a hoax?
It turns out that little Falcon was hiding in a box in the family’s attic. So what exactly did he do by himself all that time? When he was found he told reporters, “I played with my toys and took a nap.”
Here’s where things get fishy. The Heene family went on CNN’s Larry King Live last night and was interviewed by Wolf Blitzer. When asked about the incident, Falcon admitted that he heard his parents calling for him. His father, Richard Heene, then asked, “Why didn’t you respond?”
Falcon Heene replied, “You guys said we did this for the show.”
Uh oh. Out of the mouths of babes.
The family does have a history of being in the spotlight. Richard Heene hosts a show called “The Psyience Detectives,” which discusses paranormal activity. Both parents also have been in “Box Time Playhouse” and “Box Time Fire Truck.” They have also appeared twice on the ABC reality show “Wife Swap.”
So what do you think? Was this all an elaborate hoax? See the video and vote below…
