Julian Assange

An arrest warrant has been issued by Interpol for Julian Assange on sex charges. The WikiLeaks founder is suspected of rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion stemming from encounters with two women during a visit to Sweden back in August.

Assange has repeated denied the charges and insists that his sexual relations with the women in question were consensual.

The Swedish computer hacker founded the WikiLeaks website in 2006. Since that time, it has published nearly half a million top secret U.S. documents.

Court documents reveal that Assange is suspected of raping and sexually molesting a woman in Enkoping, located in central Sweden. He’s also suspected of molestation and unlawful coercion of a second female in Stockholm.

Mark Stephens, Assange’s attorney, says both women have declared that they had “consensual sexual relations” with Assange.

“Only after the women became aware of each other’s relationships with Mr. Assange did they make their allegations against him,” Stephens said in a statement.
