Whatever you do, don’t tell Daniel Collins Jr. to “pull my finger.”
The 72-year-old New Jersey man is accused of pulling a gun on his neighbor after he broke wind outside his apartment, according to police.
Collins allegedly pointed a silver revolver at his 47-year-old neighbor in the vestibule of their Cedar Lane apartment building and said, “I’m going to put a hole in your head.”
The confrontation took place after Collins said his neighbor farted as he walked past Collins’ apartment, according to Detective Lt. Andrew McGurr.
Collins said he heard the offending blast inside his apartment. The neighbor proceeded to call police, who found a gun under the front passenger seat of Collins’ car.
The gun fit the description the neighbor gave investigators.
Collins has been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and making terror threats.
He was released on his own recognizance.
The two men had been involved in an ongoing dispute stemming from earlier noise complaints, according to McGurr.
