Amy Winehouse was charged on Wednesday after an assault at a theater last week.
In a news release issued by authorities, Winehouse, 26, was charged under the name Amy Civil with a “public order offense and common assault.” The singer divorced her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, earlier this year.
Winehouse went to the police station on her own with her lawyer on Wednesday and was arrested. She will appear in court on January 20.
The incident took place Saturday night at Milton Keynes Theatre in the town of Milton Keynes, which is located about 55 miles northwest of London.
