American Idol Season 10 Judges

It’s back! The hit Fox reality singing competition American Idol returned for a tenth season last night, and even with a few noticeable changes, the show didn’t really feel all that different.

Sure, Simon Cowell is gone now, but Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez were very entertaining in their first stint on the judge’s panel.

Randy Jackson was there too, of course, adding a hint of consistency to the mix.  Turns out, Randy even has a new nickname for host Ryan Seacrest.  “Cresty”?  Really??

There were plenty of future stars who appeared in this first wave of auditions, but really, you tuned in to see the train wrecks, didn’t you?

Enter 25-year-old Yoji “Pop” Asano. Here he is singing Miley Cyrus‘ “Party in the U.S.A.” in the key of UGH! Scroll down for video from the first American Idol photo shoot as well as a recap from the New Jersey auditions.
