An anti-bullying video made 13-year-old Connecticut eighth grader Alye Pollack has gone viral. Since the middle of March, it’s accumulated over 300,000 views on YouTube.
In the video, Alye conveys how much words can hurt…all without saying a single word.
“I used to be really, really confident. And now, not so much because people have been bullying me, using those words,” Pollack said.
Some of those words are just terrible, and Alye wrote them on paper using a crayon. That’s how she tells her story in in the video below.
“It’s so weird. I originally thought it would get, like, 200 views, at most. This is just crazy,” Alye says.
Her mother, Audra Kruk, is proud that her daughter is getting the word out about bullying.
“This is not a topic of discussion in most homes, and I’m very excited that today I do believe, at least in our community, it is a topic of discussion,” said Kruk.
