Alexis Cohen, American Idol Contestant, Killed in Hit-and-Run

Alexis Cohen of Allentown, PA, a former American Idol contestant, has been killed.

According to various reports, Cohen, 25, was found dead Saturday around 4am in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

Two pedestrians found her body in the street and called the police.  The Ocean County prosecutors office believes that “Glitter Girl” Alexis Cohen may have been the victim of a hit-and-run driver.

Alexis Cohen competed on two seasons of American Idol. Her first appearance was in Season 7 (January 15, 2008) and, although the panel of judges was somewhat impressed with her ability, the trio didn’t send her to Hollywood.  After she was rejected, Alexis Cohen had a bit of a temper tantrum and it wound up as one of the more memorable moments of season 7.

Undeterred, Alexis Cohen showed up again for another shot in Season 8.  This time, upon being rejected yet again, she flipped the judges the bird.

Cohen tried to audition for Season 9, but was turned away at the door.
