Mount Redoubt, an active volcano located about 100 miles to the southwest of Anchorage, Alaska is “getting ready to blow, Captain.” Experts warn that the Alaska Volcano Eruption is imminent.
Previous eruptions of Mount Redoubt have occurred in 1902, 1966 and 1989. The 1989 incident sent volcanic ash over 45,000 ft into the air, blanketing around 7,700 square miles in volcanic ash, including the Anchorage area.

They seem to be updating the situation every hour or two. The citizens on Anchorage are undergoing disaster preparations as we speak.
