As you may recall, back in March we wrote about Aaron Greenspan, an Adsense publisher who sued Google and won after his Adsense account had been banned.
At the time, the judge had ruled that Google couldn’t cancel accounts for just any old reason, and awarded Greenspan $761.
The party was very short-lived. Google appealed the decision, and now they’ve won.
Greenspan had set up a website with Google Adsense on it – and nothing else. Above the links were the words, “Pick a link”. OK, well there are two Adsense violations so far.
Greenspan did argue that Google has a second program specifically for “parked” domains that allows ads to be shown without content. Of course, these pages don’t say “Pick a Link” and Greenspan could have joined that program at any time (which he later did).
So in summary, should Google have been more up-front with Greenspan and told him WHY his account was disabled? Yes.
Still, rules were broken, so I guess all is fair in love, war, and Google Adsense.
