flash seo Adobe Introduces SEO Technology Center

The Hatfields and The McCoys.  Oil and water.  SEO and Flash.  They just don't mix.

Web designers love it.  SEO's hate it.

Over the years, designers and clients have had their fair share of "discussions" on this touchy topic.

The search engines have never been able to do anything with Flash, BUT times are a-changing.

Adobe has introduced its Search Engine Optimization Technology Center.  Here is the introduction to the site:

Ensuring that search engines can crawl and index your rich Internet applications (RIAs)—so that your content can be found by others—is of critical importance to building and maintaining an online presence. While Adobe and the leading search engines are making significant strides in making SWF content more searchable, you can take additional steps now to improve your search ranking positions further.

The SEO Technology Center helps explain what the challenges are and provides practical steps, examples, and best practices that you can follow to overcome them.

It's great to see Adobe being proactive about this issue that has plagued the net for so long.

Hopefully, this effort will help small and medium-sized business owners get a grip on functionality vs. SEO. This is a good first step toward that end, anway.
