I can see some folks having a field day with this.
YouTube has now made the ability to add annotations to your videos very simple.
Annotations, which were introduced to the site last June, consist of pop-ups (think of “Pop Up Videos” on crack) that can include standard text boxes or speech bubbles, or even interactive links to other clips.
To insert the annotations, you previously needed to use an editor that was hidden under the ‘edit video’ menu. Starting this week, however, you will be able to add annotations directly using a targeting crosshair that appears whenever you view a video that you’ve uploaded.
You simply click on the video to access a menu asking which annotation you’d like to add. You can use a sliding bar on the video’s timeline to determine how long each one appears. A slider appears at the bottom of the video, allowing you to jump between each annotation.
