Here’s something that will get you Adam Lambert fans all jazzed up. The American Idol alum has reportedly teamed up with pop diva Christina Aguilera to record a new joint track.
The news was broken by Tampa Bay radio station 93.3 via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
“Uhhh not sure if this is out yet but a little birdie just told us that @AdamLambert has recorded a song with Christina Aguilera,” the station tweeted.
Later, the station posted another message saying, “We sat in a mtng in NYC where his label played us a minute of a new song.”
The title of the alleged duet has yet to be revealed and it’s not known whether the song was recorded for Adam’s new album or for Christina’s. Rumors have been swirling around that both of them are working on their next albums.
Lambert had previously told MTV about his recent studio work.
“I think I’ve probably written about 18 to 20 songs. I’ve been spending the past two and a half months in the studio.” The goal is to write “the most personal songs, the most powerful songs,” and he has tapped Ryan Tedder, Nikka Costa, and Sia Furler for the project. “I really want it to be something that’s really honest and real,” he said.
Meanwhile, Aguilera has recruited Sandy Vee, one of the masterminds behind Rihanna‘s “S&M” and Katy Perry‘s “Firework”.
Sandy posted about the news on Twitter, writing, “On my way to studio, working with Christina Aguilera. Songs folder is hot
”
Christina also reportedly has Linda Perry, DJ Premier, and Sia helping her out as well.
UPDATE: Sia has denied this story, tweeting: “Adam just texted me. Def no collab with xtina planned, although he said he would love to.” Sorry to disappoint, fans.
