A former winner of the “Big Brother” reality TV show has admitted that he used his $500,000 in prize money to purchase oxycodone pills and resell them.
Adam Jasinski, 31, has been charged after trying to sell 2,000 pills to a government witness in Massachusetts.
Federal agents report that Jasinski was arrested on Saturday after traveling Boston and showing the witness a sock containing two plastic bags filled with oxycodone, a prescription painkiller.
When federal agents tried to apprehend Jasinski in North Reading, he initially resisted and tossed the sock under a parked car, according to an affidavit filed by Todd Prough, an agent with the DEA.
Adam Jasinski scored about $500,000 last season on the CBS reality television show where participants have their every move videotaped and then vote weekly on whom to evict. The goal is to be the last remaining guest and win the grand prize.
Jasinski confessed that he’s been spending his winnings on literally thousands of oxycodone pills, then he turns around and sells them up and down the East Coast for profit.
The Florida man is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
