LinkedIn is about to launch a site dedicated to the German market. This is significant because local social network Xing currently has a stronghold on that territory.
Can LinkedIn conquer the Germans? It's had lots of success with sites focused on other European countries like Spain & France in 2008. It already has a an existing core base of 500,000 users in Germany.
Germnay will be the fourth country that LinkedIn has zeroed in on and there are 41 other sites which are merely translated versions..
Let's hope that LinkedIn has figured out how to solve those pesky outages before they run a blitzkreig in Germany.
