Get ready for a super cool new use for Twitter, thanks to a bold new relationship between ABC’s Nightline and Twitter.
Nightline news anchors are going to be hosting a regular, weekly online news show where Twitter is used for debate and questions. It’s going to be called NightTline (that’s Nightline with two Ts, for those keeping score at home).
The show will debut this Wednesday at 12:30pm EDT.
The show will be an adaptation of Nightline’s “Face-Off” model, where two opposing sides debate issue that an ABC News anchor moderates.
The first topic to be discussed? “Is torture ever acceptable?” Should be a hotly debated topic.
Twitter will be used extensively throughout the broadcast. There will even be a “widget” that will allow viewers to tweet in on the discussion.
Kudos to ABC for emracing a new technology and making full use of it.
