One of the coolest things you’ll ever see at a minor league hockey game is the annual Teddy Bear Toss. Some 20,000+ teddy bears are brought in and thrown on the ice once the hometown Calgary Hitmen score their first goal.
The anticipation in the arena is like that of an overtime game, as everyone waits patiently to toss their bear.
After the bears were thrown this year, it took almost 45 minutes to clean the ice and load the bears on to trucks for charity before the game resumed.
