YouTube just released some staggering figures. Users are now uploading 20 hours of video per minute to the site.
Assuming they've accounted for the "adult content" carpet-bombing, that figure is mind-numbing. There is now almost one full day's worth of video being added to the site every minute.
According to YouTube, the hours of video uploaded each and every minute has been increasing by leaps and bounds since 2007,when it was a mere six hours per minute. In “January of this year, it became 15 hours of video uploaded every minute, the equivalent of Hollywood releasing over 86,000 new full-length movies into theaters each week.”
This means that 33 minutes of video are added every second!
Sure, they're having trouble monetizing their traffic, but with figures like that, there's got to be a way.
